Prof. Azis said that the faculty members are among talents and they are updating their laboratories. He urged the teachers to prepare various projects and think about the future development of this great institution.

Prof. Azis pointed out that the University has instituted an Infrastructure Development Committee under the chairmanship of Prof. Rajeev Rawat of Civil Engineering department for complete transparency, accountability and honesty in the development projects.

AMU Registrar, Prof. V. K. Abdul Jaleel said that the UGC has sanctioned Rs. 73.56 lacs under XI Plan to conduct a fifty-seated lecture theatre and hundred-seated Conference Room with toilet facilities. He said that the construction projects will be completed by the end of December 2011.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Prof. Ashfaq Nabi, Chairman, Department of Chemistry said that the department has celebrated its centenary on March 5-6, 2011 and a large number of alumni from all over the world participated in the Aligarh Muslim University programme.

Dr. Suhail Sabir conducted the function about amu news. Prof. Sartaj Tabassum said that this is exciting moment and this is an international year of chemistry.

The Vice Chancellor also inaugurated the classroom and extension of library building at the Department of Islamic Studies constructed with a cost of Rs. 74.70 lacs. The foundation of this building was laid on January 18, 2010 and the project was completed within the time limit.

On this occasion, AMU Registrar, Prof. V. K. Abdul Jaleel, Chairman of Department of Islamic Studies, Prof. Sayyid Ahsan and former Chairman, Prof. Zafarul Islam also addressed the function.
